Welcome to the Eastern Long Island Quilters Guild, started in 1981. Our mission is to preserve and promote the tradition, culture and history of quilting; and to promote the knowledge and understanding of all aspects of quilting among our members and the general public.
The guild conducts regular monthly meetings at the Southold Recreation Center, 970 Peconic Lane, Peconic, NY (directions below). Meetings are generally held from February through December on the first Wednesday of the month with a few exceptions, check the “Events & Meetings” page for exact dates and locations. Visitors are welcomed for a fee of $5.

The Guild publishes a quarterly newsletter which informs members of the many activities available to them. A lending library, monthly programs, workshops, and lectures conducted by nationally recognized professionals are just some of the opportunities offered to the membership. Special events are also scheduled throughout the year.
The Guild holds a Quilt Show annually in June, which features 150 or more quilts by members and non-members. Quilts are professionally judged and awarded ribbons. The two-day event includes demonstrations, lectures, and vendors featuring many quilt-related items. The Eastern Long Island Quilters’ Guild is a member of the National Quilting Association, chapter number NY806, as well as QCNYS and MAQGNET.
