The “Fabric of Time” exhibit commemorates the donation of a 1890s friendship quilt local to East Cutchogue with many local names in each square. The quilt, a quilt collection of over 20 quilts, many over 200 years old, woven coverlets, and white work, will be on display in the Wickham House from 1-4, Friday- Saturday, until October, on the Village Green in Cutchogue.
For more information contact: CutchogueHistory@gmail.com
One of the unique things about or exhibit is it contains several quilts from the late 1700s, which are very rarely found, as well as many quilts over 200 years old. The collections included a centennial quilt, 3 “chamblet" quilts from the late 1700s, and a hand spun, hand woven linen sheet with a tragic love story attached to it. The collection of about 30 quilts has not been displayed in almost 50 years.

It will occur on Sunday, October 12, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. rain or shine. The Eastern Long Island Quilt Guild will have a dedicated table at the fair right in front of the church this year. Those who have handicapped stickers can park in the lot off East Avenue north of the Methodist Church or the eastern most section of the bank parking lot on West Main Street. Van access is available on the south side of Main Street west of Griffing Avenue.
Additionally, on September 13 & 14 ELIQG is having a quilt exhibit at Hallockville Farm Museum. If you are displaying a quilt there in September and also want to display the same quilt in October you can allow Kathy Lake or Brigitte to pick up the quilt in September from the Guild’s quilt show and we’ll hold on to the quilts for the October exhibit.
Your quilt will be displayed, then you can pick it up at the end of the show on October 12th or we will bring it to the next North Fork Quilters Tuesday night meeting (10/14) or at the ELIQG November meeting on Saturday November 8th.
Non-ELIQG members should plan to pick up their quilts after the exhibit on October 12th unless they have made other arrangements.
Registration forms can be turned in at guild meeting or be emailed to Brigitte Mazzaferro at Maz_lin@msn.com or Kathy Lake at sewmom23@aol.com
